I started this blog as a place to share stories that may have gone unnoticed. Part of learning to write these stories is learning to photograph the places or people that are involved. Whilst I’m learning, not all of all the photos I shoot each week are directly related to a story. I still like some of them though…
So what I figured I’d do, once I have a few frames that are a little out of context, is share them here and ask for your feedback. All of the following photos were shot on an old Nikon D3000 DSLR with a 35mm Prime f1.8 lens and straight to monochrome (to try and create the same shooting experience as my old film camera)
I’m working on framing, finding contrast, and trying to capture some of the feelings I’m getting when I’m in the places. I’m very new to this so, don’t expect anything amazing but, your feedback is most welcome.

(It never hurts to share a bonus kitten photo…)

I know, it’s a bit of a random collection but I am trying to shoot things that grab my focus and attention, by seeming to have ‘something’ about them that words alone don’t express.
I do genuinely value your feedback on anything I’ve shared. Thank you for taking the time to read and look at my learning process.
